Professional String Quartet Hire in London

If you’re having an international event or wedding and would like to hire the string quartet, please get in touch! We travel often for work and can help you make all the arrangements! Some of our recent performances as a string quartet have been in France, Italy and Spain. We will be able to advise you on the best travel logistics for traveling with instruments, too. Bear in mind that the cello will need its own seat on the plane! We also will give you a quote that includes per diems, so that our food and travel costs are covered. It’s a good idea to book early so that you keep costs down! However, we can also travel at the last minute, dependent on availability.

We’ve been told that it’s usually better to book with us, reliable and experienced musicians, rather than hiring local musicians. It is best not to compromise when it comes to communication, professionalism and expertise when you’re celebrating your special day!

We always ensure we are well-presented and dressed elegantly and professionally. If you have a specific colour scheme, let us know and we’ll see what we have in our wardrobes! We have almost every colour ballgown! The men usually wear all black dress trousers and shirt, and a tuxedo if requested.

For the wedding ceremony itself, you should choose a wedding party/bridal entrance song. This should be ideally a song or piece of music that has a special meaning for you). Also, decide on a song for the signing of the registry, and an upbeat song for your ceremony exit.

If you need any advice on what has worked well for others, we’re happy to offer suggestions! Some examples of popular bridal entrance music, which is also great for the signing of the registry – Pachelbel ‘Canon’, Elvis ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, Lana Del Rey ‘Young and Beautiful’, Ed Sheeran ‘Perfect’ and Cristina Perry ‘A Thousand Years’. The theme from Gladiator is also in demand at the moment! Again, if you have a specific choice that you can’t find on our list please let us know. We will do our best to source the music for free!

We also recommend hiring the string quartet to play some romantic music to set the mood as guests enter the ceremony room and take their seats.

If you’ve booked the string quartet for your cocktail reception, you may wish to choose all the music. Alternatively, give us a general idea and we’ll choose our most popular selections for you. Yes, Bridgerton arrangements are a big hit with clients and that’s our speciality!

We can indeed! We just ask that a shelter is provided for our string quartet to play under. A large umbrella per musician will suffice, or a gazebo, to prevent sunlight, rain and bird droppings damaging our instruments.

A string quartet is like a miniature string orchestra, comprised of two violins, a viola and a cello. We’ve also performed with a double bass on request, completing the orchestra! So, with a quartet you have the full range of harmonies and resonance.

The string quartet has always been the go-to choice for those wishing to hire live, classically-trained musicians for their event. Oh, and we love Bridgerton! After watching it people realise that the string quartet is super versatile and can perform their favourite pop-covers! You really can’t go wrong with a string quartet. It can play anything! We offers competitive rates and upon inquiring, we will respond with a quote that clearly states the different options and costs for each ensemble and length of time, as well as the travel fee per musician. If your ceremony is a civil ceremony, an hour should be sufficient. Our string quartet will perform as guests arrive, during the ceremony itself, and as guests leave the room. For Church ceremonies, particularly Catholic Masses, we recommend that you book the string quartet for two hours.

Post-wedding, you may wish to have live music during your cocktail reception – this is usually one or two hours. Some clients only book a string quartet for the cocktails and canapes. Some hire us only for the ceremony, and some book us for both the ceremony and drinks reception. We’ve even performed for the wedding breakfast as well, before the DJ arrives. It’s really up to you and your wishes! We’ll be able to offer suggestions and advice about what type of music is suitable for which part of the day.

Once we’ve confirmed all your booking details including location, time and ensemble, we will send you our contract and an invoice for the 25% deposit. Upon receiving the payment via bank transfer or card payment all is confirmed and booked in! If your event is last minute, no worries! We just require the full fee upfront for events that are happening less than 4 weeks away.

You can indeed! Just give us a call or email and we’ll see if we’re available. We have lots of excellent musicians in our team and have never turned away a client to date! We do recommend getting in early to take advantage of lower fees and to guarantee availability, but if you’re want to hire a string quartet at the last minute we can help!

Definitely! We regularly perform in a Bridgerton style and can play all the covers from the Bridgerton series. 🙂

The music of the string quartet has extra layers of texture compared to the duo or trio. It’s a grander ensemble visually, and a little louder than the others, too. It depends how much space and budget you have.

Sure! We offer one song or piece of music not on our repertoire list for free, as long as it is available, and we will quote the fee for any extra music upon request.
