Book a Violinist for your Wedding or Event
Are you looking for something even more edgy and cool? You have the option to hire a solo violinist with backing tracks! (You’ll find the list of backing tracks further down this page). Backing tracks add a modern vibe to your event, and the performance will be a guaranteed crowd-pleaser! If the venue has a PA system we can use, that’s great – if not, no worries. We can be booked with our PA system. Here, we can really dial up the volume, which is ideal for large crowds. Your guests will be sure to be dancing at the end (or beginning) of the night! You can also hire an electric violinist or string ensemble with us – get in touch for more info!
Check out our repertoire list – covering music from Baroque to Bridgerton and Bollywood.
Our violinists for hire have a massive selection of repertoire available for you to choose from. We can perform your Bridgerton favourites and Classical masterpieces, Bollywood and film music, and even a bit of rock and RnB!
If you have a special request for your bridal entrance, first dance, or proposal that you can’t find on the list, please let us know and we will arrange the music for you. We can offer you this special request for free.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I hire a Violinist?
Once you’ve decided on the date, time and location of your event, get in touch with us and we’ll email you across our price list, including any quotes for travel and distance. You can actually change the details on your booking, including the ensemble and time, up until 28 days before your event, too, so we do offer quite a lot of flexibility in this regard! The booking is confirmed once we receive confirmation of deposit payment, which is 25%, and we’ll email you across the invoice along with our contract.
You have the option of paying via bank transfer or card. The remainder of the payment is due 28 days before your wedding or special event.
Can I choose specific music?
Yes, you can! We offer a special request that isn’t on our repertoire list for free, and any other songs will incur an extra fee, which we will quote you.
When will the Violinist I’ve hired arrive to set up, and what will they wear?
Our solo violinist will be at the venue around 30 minutes before the beginning of the booking time, in order to get dressed and set up.
The girls wear coloured, long ball-gowns, and the men dress in all black. If you’d like us to fit in with a specific colour-scheme, please let us know – we have lots of colour dresses and will try to match your request!
The men can also wear tuxedos if desired. Either way, we always look snazzy and elegant and take pride in our appearance!
When does the Violinist play during the wedding ceremony?
Your solo violinist will play for your bridal entrance, the signing of the registry, and for your exit as a married couple. The violinist will be happy to play during other parts of your ceremony too, if requested – for example during a church service, or a recital piece during the ceremony. If you need help choosing the music, please ask us for advice and recommendations, always happy to help!
We also recommend hiring our solo violinist to play as the guests take their seats, to set the romantic mood and provide some light entertainment before the ceremony.
We require some small breaks for bookings over an hour – to give our fingers a refresh! This would be 10 minutes each hour for bookings of an hour or more, and a 20 minute meal break for bookings of 3 hours or more. We of course can’t take a break during the ceremony itself as that would be disruptive.
Can I book a Violinist for my destination wedding?
If you’re having an international event or wedding and would like to hire a violinist, please get in touch! We travel often for work and can help you make all the arrangements! Some of our recent performances as violinist abroad have been in France, Italy and Spain. We will be able to advise you on the best travel logistics for traveling with instruments, too. We also will give you a quote that includes per diems, so that our food and travel costs are covered. It’s a good idea to book early so that you keep costs down! However, we can also travel at the last minute, dependent on availability.
We’ve been told that it’s usually better to book with us, reliable and experienced musicians, rather than hiring local violinists. It is best not to compromise when it comes to communication, professionalism and expertise when you’re celebrating your special day!
How long should I hire a Violinist for my wedding?
If your ceremony is a civil ceremony, an hour should be sufficient. Our violinist will perform as guests arrive, during the ceremony itself, and as guests leave the room. For Church ceremonies, particularly Catholic Masses, we recommend that you book a violinist for two hours.
Post-wedding, you may wish to have live music during your cocktail reception – this is usually one or two hours. Some clients only book a violinist for the cocktails and canapes. Some hire us only for the ceremony, and some book us for both the ceremony and drinks reception. We’ve even performed for the wedding breakfast as well, before the DJ arrives. It’s really up to you and your wishes! We’ll be able to offer suggestions and advice about what type of music is suitable for which part of the day.
Can I hire a Violinist at the last minute?
Yes you can! We have a large team of wonderful violinists, and we have never turned away a client yet! We do recommend booking a violinist for your wedding or event a few weeks or months in advance, in order to lock in on low rates and guarantee availability. However, even if your event is tomorrow, do flick us a message or call and we’ll see if we are available!
